Mike Nugent Misses A Field Goal, So Carlos Dunlap Returns A Fumble For A Touchdown
Now the momentum is shifting after Nate Clements blocked Adam Vinatieri's 53-yard field goal attempt. From their own 43-yard line, Bengals backup running back Bernard Scott picked up two yards, milking the clock until the Bengals were setup with a third-and-eight with 4:22 remaining in the game. Andy Dalton dumps off the pass to Brian Leonard on a screen to the left, following his blocks and picking up 25 yards on the reception.
The first down allowed Cincinnati a new set of downs to wipe out the clock. Scott picked up two yards combined on the following two runs that forced Indianapolis to use their remaining timeouts. With eight yards to go with just over three minutes, Leonard takes the draw from shotgun and picks up three yards.
Leaving over two minutes in the game, Mike Nugent pushes a 43-yard field goal attempt wide right, snapping a streak of 13 consecutive field goals made.
Now the Colts have 2:36 remaining in the game, no timeouts remaining. Curtis Painter completes the pass to Pierre Garcon, who fumbles the football after Reggie Nelson strips the football. Carlos Dunlap scoops up the football and returns it for a touchdown, giving the Bengals a 27-17 lead.

This team does what it takes to win
Andy continues to look like a poised veteran and looks to have a very bright future. Ditto for AJ, the D, and countless other young players.
I’d still like to see them come out and not necessarily play to the level of their competition, but the bottom line is we are 4-2 and had chances to win in the 2 games we lost.
I about spit my beer out of my mouth when that happened
within minutes, I went from expecting the Colts to tie it up and send the game into overtime to us winning by 10. Hey… I’ll take a win however it’s won….
