The performance earned him Cincy Jungle's Game Ball of the Week as well as one of four Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week nominations. And according to the NFL, he was one of five players considered for the week six Offensive AFC Player of the Week (not just rookie). This is the second time this year Andy Dalton has been nominated (and failed to win) the NFL's weekly award. Cedric Benson, A.J. Green and Jerome Simpson have also received nominations this year.

Star-divide

Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall won the award after rushing for 146 yards on 23 carries with a touchdown during the Steelers 17-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Other nominations included New England quarterback Tom Brady (289 yards passing, two touchdowns and two picks), Bills running back Fred Jackson (121 yards rushing and a touchdown) and Ravens running back Ray Rice (161 yards from scrimmage).

I assume this was a correction, but as an addendum, 4 of those incompletions were drops and one was a batted ball. Take those away and he’s 25 of 27. Stunning.

+1

There were multiple dropped passes, which make the performance even that muchmore impressive.
