Bengals Worked Out Three Punters and Long Snapper
According to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, the Bengals held try outs for three punters and a long snapper. The three punters they invited for a try out were Spencer Lanning, Robert Malone and Jake Rogers.
According to Reedy, the Bengals decided to hold the tryout not because current punter Kevin Huber is hurt or underperforming but because they are just "building their list in case of an injury."
As for the long snapper, Patrick Scales, Reedy believes he was at the try out because somebody had to snap to the punters during the tryout.
So far this season, Huber has punted 37 times with an average of 44.6 yards per punt, a long punt of 71 yards and 11 punts downed inside the 20-yard line.
Huber's 44.6 yards per punt average ranks 17th in the NFL.
