De Ja Vu?! No strip club.

With the Bengals sitting at 4-2,their second in the division. And after next week, there is a good chance Bengals could be sitting in first place. I was thinking this all seems familiar, like I know whats going to happen the next 10 games. Then it hit me, this season is shaping out to be just like 2009. At this time in 2009, the Bengals were 4-2 as well and on their way to sweeping the whole division.

So here is my predictions for the next 10 games:

@ Seattle W - This will be a statement game for the Bengals.

@Tennessee L - I have a feeling that Rey may not be back this game and Johnson finally breaks loose. Trap game.

Pittsburgh W- I expect a lot of turnovers and it will come down to the last drive.

@Baltimore W- The Bengals will control the control the clock with an effective run game.

Cleveland W- Dalton and Mccoy will have 5 TDs combine.

@Pittsburgh W- Big Ben gets hurt, Bengals win by two scores.

Houston L- Bengals will be beat up, rest key starters.

@St. Louis L- Another recovery week, should see a lot of Taylor Mays.

Arizona L- Close game, but will lose by a field goal.

Baltimore W- The Bengals win big and gain momentum into the playoffs.

Finishing off the season at 10-6 with a home playoff game against the Steelers.

Pretty sure most of that wont happen, but I just have a feeling. However, I think the Bengals have a good shot at getting to 10-6 to win the division or 9-7 enough to get a wild card.

And if you have a better prediction, I would like to see it!

Well lets hope that changes

New medical staff… new team… yeah lets hope it changes

We'd better not lose to the Rams...

or the Titans. Those are two defenses that are struggling right now and we may not need Rey to stop Chris Johnson as the Titans are looking one-dimensional now with Hasselbeck starting to struggle. We could probably beat the Rams with Gradkowski starting and we most certainly had better not lose to them if Bradford isn’t playing and Feeley is getting the start. Arizona is a toss-up but we haven’t beaten them in a while so I’d like a win against them. I remember the last time we played them Carson lost us that game because he went pick crazy, throwing four I think. Don’t want a repeat of that performance from Dalton.

What the ...?

Beating the Steelers and Ravens twice and losing to Tennessee, St. Louis and Arizona? The only ones that approach normal are the loss to the Texans and the W over the Browns. I think from 10-6 seems solid, but I would change who the wins and losses are quite a bit.

Try not to take the above message too seriously.

10-6 is Realistic

Baltimore – Split
Pitt – Splitt
St. Louis – Win
Arizona – Win (50% Chance)
Tennessee – Win (50% Chance)

I would not rule out a win over Houston to go 11-5, especially if they cannot keep their playmakers healthy.

We stay healthy we are in the playoff hunt.

I agree about Houston

But we always seem to lose to them even though we should beat them….

My only prediction is that the Bengals will show up at Seattle and play to win

You can’t predict this stuff. Even the bad teams can play well and the good ones can play badly. I say lets get the stars out of our eyes and enjoy the moment.

True

As evidenced by the Jags beating the Ravens last night. Any given Sunday

i doubt i have every win and loss picked corectly, like you said its about impossible to pick every game right. My point was to show that this season is starting out like 2009 and I had picked games accordinly. There will be those losses that will leave you scratchiing your head.

No.

Very much no.

Might it work out the way you listed? I guess, possibly, but very unlikely.

Even using rose colored glasses, I wouldn’t predict a sweep of the division and losses to the Cards, the Rams, and the Titans.

2010 was "Schemin’ for Green and Faultin’ for Dalton."

I see your point... but

I have a good feeling about this team and I still believe they can get to the playoffs. The point about my post was there is something special about this season and that its shapping out to be like 2009. However, will we sweep the division, most likely not. If were to sweep the division, we would most likely rest key players to get ready for the playoffs, there are going to be players hurt after 4 straight division games in the AFC north. So you have factor in losses that not account for.

We will go 4-2 for the next 6 weeks.

I hope you are right upstate. If we do we probably go to the post season.

I really can’t afford to think that way right now. So far the water has been manageable but the rapids are rapidly approaching. If we don’t hit a rock we will be okay.

We will at least have to sweep the ravens or steelers

and split a series with ravens or steelers to make the playoffs

I am not sure about that

The Steelers play the Patriots next, I think. I think they will lose that game. Then they play the Ravens. I think they lose that game too. If we win both of our next two winnable games in Seattle and Tennesee we will be up on them by a game and still tied with the Ravens if they win both. A split with the Ravens and Steelers would probably be good enough. But, we have a lot of football to play. The good thing is that we seem to be getting a bit better every week and I really don’t see Baltimore and Pittsburg doing that. They seem to be leveling off. But hey all of this is a crap shoot. That is why they play the games.

thats possible... but I agree the bengals have been getting better each week..

baltimore seems to up and down from week to week. The Steelers look older and they have trouble closing out teams. I have a feeling the Browns will be the dark horse and knock out pitt, baltimore or cincy out of the playoffs with a few wins.

I think the Browns simply don't have the receiving corps

to score enough and their Oline is simply too injured to protect McCoy long enough to allow them to get open. Maybe Hillis will wake up and start playing like he did last year and that will help, but if teams can load up the box on them and make them win thru the air he will find the going tough. The Ravens and Steelers are showing some chinks in their armour but they are still pretty good – but then so are we and we will continue get better IMO.

Yea, i just think the browns are under rated by most

and the steelers and baltimore are slightly over rated, but i guess they deserve it since it seems like its one of the two teams in the AFC championship every year

9-7 won't win a wildcard this year, 10-6 iffy

I tend to think they either win the division or sit at home for playoffs. I am predicting 9-7 at this point, with 11-5 being the top mark (which means playoffs).

Seattle and Titans – one L one W, not sure which but both are winnable 5-3

Balt L Pitt W Cleve W 7-4

Pitt L Hous L 7-6

StL- W Ariz W Balt L 9-7

Every game is winnable, could run the table but I think they are above average team but not mature enough to win the big divisional games yet. Defense is ready, passing is B+ but running game is lacking and will keep them from sweeping division.

by brisd on Oct 25, 2011 12:56 PM EDT reply actions

yea 9-7 would be cutting it close, but it still possible...

for instance the bengals lose to STL, ARIZ, Seatle a few other games and win the rest of their games.. they can get a wild card because their conference record would be really good. So their will probably be a 9-7 and 10-6 wild card teams…
