An absolute must-read about Andy Dalton and the new Cincinnati Bengals

"Dalton meets Bengals' hopes after Palmer quit"

This article REALLY gets me excited for the future of this organization. I've been bitten multiple times my Mike Brown, but I can't help but feel optimistic. With what we received for Carson Palmer and our future in the hands of someone like Andy Dalton, how can you not be?

My favorite quote from the article:

He (Lewis) thinks of the players who now fill his locker room: the ones who want to be there, who are about football and winning and all the things he always wanted for his team.

“They have something to prove,” he says. “We all do.”

Who Dey!!

Inside Look On The Bengals, Just Makes Me Want Marvin As The GM Now, For The Way He Has Been Through

Title is dead on, IMO

Favorite part below:

FedEx each quarterback a playbook two days before his visit in Cincinnati and ask the players to "teach me the offense" when they arrived.
Dalton, who had studied Cincinnati’s playbook so well he found a typographical error and called the team wondering if he was misreading something, walked to the board and whipped through the exercise so well but without any pretension or showmanship as if he were a coach himself.

I love it

It makes me more and more excited when I read stuff like this about Dalton. Also makes me a bit worried because things are going so well….ah the life of a bengals fan.

Wow, awesome write up!

Its nice to see so much effort put in by the Bengals staff to get the correct guys. Id have been going crazy trying to wait till the second to grab dalton too, just imagine as they saw all those QB’s drafted haha.

Wonder how this guy got his information.

Very detailed, insider stuff he supposedly has..

If all of that content is true...

then that’s the most eye-opening, non-hyperbolic pieces i’ve read on the bengals in a long, long time. very well written, and that’s a rarity in articles that “professionals” put out these days. paints a very different picture of the team’s direction in contrast to years past.

Single Best Article On The Bengals In Years !

It shows great insight about the team and its mindset. If after reading it you’re not at least somewhat excited about Dalton and this team, there’s probably no hope for you.

Curious, when was the trade deadline last season
"At what point did Carson quit?" Bengals coach Marvin Lewis asks, repeating a similar question. "At some point last year he decided he didn’t want to be here. This didn’t happen at the end of the season. There was a point earlier on when he said, ‘This isn’t the place for me.’ "

and how do Palmer’s stats compare before and after…

"Suck for Luck"? Forget that
2010 was "Schemin’ for Green and Faultin’ for Dalton."

Another person that deserves just as much credit as Andy Dalton...

Is Jay Gruden – seriously – I am so happy that I can watch a Bengals offensive series without going crazy! I love what Gruden brings to this team, he could care less about who gets the stats as long as we’re moving the chains.

Ahhh….how far we’ve come since the days of Bresnahan and Bratkowski!!

(Speaking of Brat – I believe it’s no coincidence that Matt Ryan is having such an off season with Bratkowski as QB coach in ATL)

great find, and great article

so nice for once to see our organization with a unified approach from a coaching standpoint, and coupled with players who fit the ‘team’ mentality. It’s like for the first time in a LONG time, all the puzzle pieces seem to fit

Long time is right....

You’re right – it feels so refreshing not having to deal with the prima donnas anymore.

This is awesome!

Every week I like this kid more and more. It’s rare to have such a talented athlete while being so humble. It makes me wish it was Sunday. Who Dey!
