Why not Brian Leonard, someone will, and perhaps should, point out. Great choice. The Bengals third down running back posted 36 yards from scrimmage during Cincinnati's final drive against the Buffalo Bills; including a 14-yard run with 36 seconds remaining in the game. Wait. What about someone on the league's first ranked defense? Although isn't that a little convoluted because of the unifying effort from Mike Zimmer's squad; is there one player we could nominate over the others?
That being said our Samsung Game Ball of the Week goes to Bengals place kicker Mike Nugent, for his game winning field goal as time expired against the (at the time) undefeated Buffalo Bills. It was the first time that the Bengals won with a field goal as regulation expired since December 11, 2005 against the Cleveland Browns. However Shayne Graham converted a 31-yard field goal to beat the Browns in overtime on October 4, 2009.
Through four games this year, Nugent has converted all 10 field goal attempts.
