First of all, Carson looked great. Not just good, but great. He sported a 125.0 QB rating on the road against what shouldv'e been a tough Chargers team. He keeps this up, and we definately will be out of the lottery for Richardson, or for a top 12 pick. Most Bengals fans it seems would prefer Carson to carry them deep into the playoffs so we can get two (1#) picks. I personally would rather see them go 6-10 or 7-9 and secure a higher pick this draft. Then he can lead them to the playoffs next yr for another 1st rd pick.
Secondly, how in the world does Nurv Turner still have a job? Marty built that team, and he built them with a stout, physical defense and a smash mouth running game. When Turner took over, he was suppose to bring them the SB wins. Instead they looked horrid on national tv. No offensive line, no running game, and zero defense. I can't fathom this team going 8-8
And third perspective. The Raiders Bush will be a FA after this year. He wants to be "the guy" and doubt he has any interest in being McFadden's backup anymore. If the Raiders continue to improve and knock us out of contention for Richardson, then should we pursue Bush in the offseason? Ced turns 29 this Dec, and Bush will be 28 next June. Bush doesn't have much wear on him playing behind McFadden. And his 6'1, 245 lb frame is bigger and stronger then Benson.
And finally, if we can't land Richardson, and are too cheap to sign Bush, here are some prospects mid round that we can take a look at it. Which one should we draft if any?
