Final Injury/Practice Report: Steelers LaMarr Woodley And Bengals Donald Lee Ruled Out, Adam Jones Doubtful
Contrary to one report suggesting that Donald Lee returned to practice, the final injury and practice report released on Friday labels the backup tight end as having not practiced. He is now listed as out for this weekend, whereas Jermaine Gresham, the team's starting tight end that's missed two straight, only practiced in a limited capacity and listed as questionable.
Third-down back Brian Leonard and defensive end Carlos Dunlap are also questionable. Bengals cornerback Adam Jones missed practice on Thursday and Friday, listed as doubtful but you might as well label him as out.
On the Steelers front, linebacker LaMarr Woodley missed a third-straight practice, listed as out this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals. Safety Troy Polamalu (rib) missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned on Friday. He's probable.

Lamar Woodly for Adam Jones
Pretty even trade…..I think we may have the better end of this one…..We dont even know what Jones can really do yet..
Yeah but Dunlap out too
Jones is key to our nickel back coverage, especially since we cut Morgan Trent. Dunlap IS our Lamar Woodley and it looks as if he’s out too. You have only heard how “banged up” the Steelers are but it looks like we are worse off than them.
yes
They will try to exploit our deep ball weakness all day.

The key with Wallace it to hold your coverage...
…most of his big gains come when the play breaks down and the CB breaks coverage anticipating Ben to run the ball. Once Wallace has the ball in the open field, their is no catching him. Just stick to him like glue even if Ben is scrambling.
So that only means
Pressure/Sack Rapistberger, and contain him
Stop there running game
also Hold down the TE
Exactly...
…the formula to stop the Steelers is easy, executing it requires discipline. They’re offensive line is mediocre at best. You need a strong but controlled pass rush that collapses the pocket, rather than flushing Ben. Ben on the run is very dangerous because LBs and CBs break coverage and that’s when he kills you.
Exactly i Agree
the only way they move the ball is usually through break down plays when Ben is flushed out, if we keep him in the pocket contain, hes either going to force a bad pass into coverage or either take a beating from our Front 4
And you have to have all of the Pass Rushers going all out until the whistle
If one misses a sack the other DLinemen have to be there to clean up the sack and take Ben down.
Jam him every time off the line.
Do not let him get any distance, and if he does catch one let him feel it.

Was hoping Adam Jones would be back for this game...
For that split second return he looked good to make a huge contribution to the team. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do on defense.

Really thin at CB
If we stop the run and are playing a lot of nickel type coverage, that is awful, awful thin at CB. We have 3 healthy on the roster and you have to play three in nickel back situations. Not a good thing at all.

Not good
Though I expect most of them to play. Leonard, Gresham and Dunlap are musts. Interesting that Maualuga is “probable”. I’m curious to see if he’ll play—he’s a key player too.

I think Jones missing may be the biggest issue
I just do NOT trust Kelly Jennings AT ALL! Please prove me wrong Jennings!
The key to Mike Wallace is to let Taylor Mays head hunt
Nothing dirty but a “you come over here and you’re getting whacked”.
