Bengals Early Bird Special: Time to Forget Sunday's Loss And Focus on Ravens

Good morning everyone. I hope your week is off to a good start. If it isn't then grab some donuts and eat your troubles away. Probably not the healthiest thing to do, but there are worse things you could do.

Star-divide

So the Bengals lost for the third time on Sunday, we all know that. But it's not the end of the world. It's time to move on from that loss and focus on this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. There's no need to dwell on last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For the second week in a row the Bengals will be squaring-off against one of the better teams in the league. Despite their age on defense, Baltimore still has one of the best defensive units in the game. I don't care what others say, but you can't cast aside the Ravens defense just because of their age. Yes, they aren't what they used to be, but they are still solid overall.

As for the Bengals defense, well we'll have to see if they continue to own Joe Flacco. I have a feeling that they will. And stopping Flacco and Ray Rice is going to be vital for Cincinnati. They cannot have a repeat performance of their first half against Pittsburgh. Actually I'll go as far as saying that they cannot let the Ravens score on their first two possessions whereas the Steelers cruised down field for two straight scores to open up the game. Let's hope the Bengals don't have that repeat performance.

Alright here is what you may have missed or overlooked from Tuesday.

Playing the Steelers was definitely a test, but

losing Leon Hall for the season will be the ultimate test for this team. I’m eager to see what Ghee brings to the table. Wasn’t he pretty good before getting injured? B’more game is big for both teams (as division games usually are), so in Zimmer I trust coming up with something to make up for the loss of Hall. Who Dey!

Hall was having a mediocre year

I think he was exposed more because JJoe was gone. However, they were an awesome duo. I think that needs to be appreciated. And it shows that JJoe is the better CB.

So, we have some others who are getting their chance. The pressure will be on the rest of the D to step up and force Flacco to make mistakes and have the Ravens rely on their Run Game – aka Ray Rice.

It will be another exciting game I think. Are our boys as hungry and good as we believe? We need total defensive dominance on Sunday. I want to hear Flacco scream like a little girl while running for his life.

Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

MIke, I think Hal was having a mediocre year for him, but overall, compared to the rest...

of the NFL he was quite good. He would be snatched up and given a pretty big contract if he got to FA. JJ is having a very good year, but we all know that he could hit the bricks with an injury any time. At least he did with us. Hall, at least has been out there, every game, I think. When JJ is out there he is better than Hall somewhat but he can’t defend sitting on the bench in a walking boot, what is it, a 3-4 game averavg a year; JJ is only a big loss if he played every game IMO.

Ready to start winning again.

This team and the BENGAL fans did not know what to think this last Sunday after the loss. We are NOT used to losing. Yeah, it was a tough loss but I agree it is time to look foward to this coming game against the Ravens this Sunday in BAL. What is the status with JONES? The injury list and status has been quiet. I hope JONES, GREEN is full go this game cause we need them. With the signing of MCFADDEN……I dont know what to think . Is this dude good? Good thing they put him on the practice squad. On the offensive side of the ball I would like to see LEE back and working side by side with GRESHAM this Sunday. Bottom line is Im waiting to see the injury report before I start addressing concerns.
