Bengals Reduce Baltimore's Lead To Three Points Following Cedric Benson's Second Touchdown

Stay connected for news and updates

Even though Ray Rice's 59-yard explosion up the middle put Baltimore on Cincinnati's six-yard line, the Bengals held the Ravens with a stifling goalline defense that ended with a two-yard sack by Geno Atkins and a 22-yard Billy Cundiff field goal to give Baltimore a 17-7 lead early in the third quarter. A crushing kickoff and a Brandon Tate knee nine yards deep in the endzone brings Cincinnati's offense out to their own 20-yard line.

Cincinnati's second half opening offense appeared to open like a quiet whisper in a box office disaster. Andy Dalton scrambles right, avoids a quarterback sack and finds a wide-open Brian Leonard, who completes the 37-yard reception to the Ravens 36-yard line. Following a four-yard run, Dalton fakes the handoff and eases a pass to a wide open Jermaine Gresham near the left sidelines for the a 24-yard gain to the Ravens eight-yard line.

Setting up a second and goal from the Ravens three-yard line following Benson's five-yard run, Dalton takes the snap and hands off to Benson who pounds the football into the endzone for the touchdown.

The seven-play, 80-yard touchdown drive reduces Cincinnati's deficit to three points.
