Browns Take A 10-Point Lead As The First Half Concludes

Stay connected for news and updates

The Cincinnati Bengals are clearly falling into their second quarter trap, which is usually their worst quarter of the game this year. A depressing punt with a beneficial roll giving Kevin Huber 41 yards, sets Cleveland up at their own 28-yard line with 2:52 remaining in the first quarter. Hills runs on consecutive downs, picking up 12 yards and a first down as the game hits the two minute warning.

Consecutive incomplete passes by McCoy sets up a third and ten from the Browns 40-yard line with 1:54 remaining in the second quarter. McCoy is forced to make a terrible throw over the middle as he's hit by Geno Atkins, forcing the Browns to punt the football with 1:46 remaining.

Brandon Tate catches the punt at the Bengals 10-yard, where Andy Dalton takes the first down snap and hits Jermaine Gresham near the right sidelines and before he's tackled, the tight end steps out of bounds. An Andy Dalton interception is negated on a defensive holding on the Browns secondary. However a second down quarterback sack two plays later by Jabaal Sheard forces the fumble giving the Browns possession at the Bengals 14-yard line.

Several plays later Colt McCoy lobs the football towards the back left pylon to Greg Little for the three-yard touchdown and a 17-7 lead.
