Tennessee Titans Take A 17-7 Half-Time Lead Over The Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati's offense has to deal with a very active Cortland Finnegan, most recently causing enough disruption to force two incomplete passes. It was the third punt of four first half possessions, though scoring one touchdown to keep their deficit within arm's reach. In the meantime the Titans' Chris Johnson picks up 12 yards on two plays as the game reaches the two minutes warning. Let's hope that the half-time adjustments includes stopping Chris Johnson and finding other players to step up for A.J. Green, who is obviously part of the Titans defensive game plan.
Second and ten from their own 31-yard line, Hasselbeck takes the shotgun snap and completes the nine-yard pass near the left hashmarks. A Chris Johnson four-yard run that picked up a first down was quickly negated following an Ahmard Hall hold, pushing the Titans to their own 30-yard line with 11 yards needed on third down. Hasselbeck takes the shotgun snap with a massive blitz that the Titans picked up, finding tight end Jared Cook for the 15-yard gain and the first down.
After a completed pass is reversed, the Titans snap the football from the Bengals 44-yard line. Mike Zimmer brings the house and Matt Hasselbeck quickly released the football for a 13-yard completion to Cook. A dump-off pass to Chris Johnson for a one-yard gain and a Michael Johnson pass deflection at the line of scrimmage sets up a third and nine with over 30 seconds remaininig in the first half. The blitz-heavy defense didn't expect the Titans to call a screen to the right, with no defenders in the area, allowing running back Javon Ringer to convert the third down on the 14-yard gain.
On second and ten from the Bengals 16-yard line and 14 seconds remaining, eight Bengals defenders drop into coverage. Matt Hasselbeck aims a pass towards the back right pylon for a wide-open Lavelle Hawkins, at least open by five yards, giving the Titans a 17-7 lead.

Come on.
Our secondary needs to wake up! They’re letting EVERYTHING through in the midlevel. It’s terrible terrible defensive football. No pressure on the QB and loose coverage loses games.
Not sure this defense is cut out to play against this sort of offense.
John Thornton is right – it’s a veteran QB with good tackles in front of him. They’re taking advantage of a weak secondary and a defense on its heels that can’t stop the outside running game and is tentative to blitz because of quick throws.
I’d like to see some more aggressive man coverage and some physicality on the outside, but I’m not so sure we get it together – getting outplayed in every phase so far.
On offense, I don't think guys are getting open.
Jerome Simpson has dropped a pass and two penalties on him have wiped out big runs. AJ Green only has 2 targets, which means Dalton is missing him or he’s not open. Run blocking has been pretty bad, but running backs have been worse – they’re not making anyone miss and in general the offense is playing pretty badly on second down.
Zero pressure
I don’t think Hasselbeck has been touched this whole game.
Get some possession time to begin the half
I’d like a couple Leonard runs and maybe another screen. Keep the ball for a lil. I’d even take a field goal if we can just get some time with the football. Let the D coool some
Kelly Jennings??
Why did they choose to keep Kelly Jennings over Morgan Trent. I can remember seeing Morgan Trent make a few plays this season. What has Jennings done besides disappoint so far?
we need to bring Binns off practice squad
I am sick of Caldwell and Simpson needs to be toasted before he shows up.. These guys are not NFL receivers. Bottom line!!!
