Nate Clements Forced Fumble And Mike Nugent 36-Yard Field Goal Gives Bengals A 24-17 Lead

With under five minutes remaining in the game, the Cincinnati Bengals defense trots on the field to help secure Cincinnati's 17-14 lead. On first down Matt Hasselbeck swings the football in the flats for Javon Ringer, which was deflected with Carlos Dunlap penetrating the line of scrimmage. Dunlap quickly recovered the football and ran into the endzone. Officials called it a touchdown, which would give the Bengals an 11-point lead if Mike Nugent converts the points after attempt. The Titans challenged the play and its reversed after it was judged a forward pass.

Cincinnati's defense holds firm, with a third down pass rush that forced an incomplete pass and a Titans punt. Cincinnati worked towards killing the clock with a Cedric Benson run, a Chris Pressley reception in the flats and an incomplete pass that stopped the clock. Bengals punt.

On first down Hasselbeck completed the pass to tight end Jared Cook, who picked up nine yards before Nate Clements stopped Cook's momentum. While holding him, the cornerback chucked the football out of Cook's hands and recovered the fumble to give Cincinnati the football back with under four minutes left in the game.

Benson picked up three yards on three runs, milking the clock as the team hit the two minute warning. Mike Nugent attempts and converts the 36-yard field goal to give Cincinnati a 24-17 lead.
