During the morning airing of NFL Total access the pundits decided to name winners of seasonal awards if they were to be given out today. The awards were rookie of the year, coach of the year, free agent signing of the year, and executive of the year. Of course rookie of the year was given out to Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. Coach of the year was given to the Bengals own Marvin Lewis, and free agent signing was given to Darren Sproles. None of the award winners were surprising given the success they have been having. Newton the fantasy football monster, Marvin labeled as banding together a group of nobodies, and Sproles becoming a big hit in New Orleans.
This all changed when they came to their final award, executive of the year. For this the panel went to Michael Lombardi where without hesitation named Bengals owner Mike Brown as the executive of the year. He reasoned that Mike Browns drafting has put "a ton of young talent on that defense". Adding that this years moves of drafting Andy Dalton in the second, drafting A.J. Green in the first and the trading of Carson Palmer to Oakland for potentially two first round picks all make Brown the clear cut executive of the year.
Well folks, I never thought I'd write that title in my life. I can only think of one possible thing this means; the world ends in 2012.
