A.J. Green is now the first rookie wide receiver in the NFL to have more than 1,000 receiving yards since 2006 and he's three yards away from passing Cris Collinsworth's franchise rookie receiving yards record of 1,009 yards and there are still two games left.
The Bengals No. 4 overall pick has been nothing short of electrifying in 2011.
His six catch, 115-yard performance against the Rams in Week 15, which included a 55-yard bomb from fellow rookie Andy Dalton, has earned him a nomination for Pepsi Rookie of the Week. He has been nominated twice so far this year but has yet to win.
Also nominated are 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith for sacking Ben Roethlisberger 2.5 times on Monday night, Browns wide receiver Greg Little for racking up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton for throwing for 149 yards and two touchdowns and running for 55 yards against the Texans, and Colts cornerback Chris Rucker for making 11 tackles and recovering a fumble in the Colts' first win of the season.
