Pregame Open Thread: Today Is Saturday And That Means Gameday!
It's Sunday Saturday morning. The Bengals are gearing up for a series of must-win games, with a little help, to make the 2011 NFL playoffs. It all starts here. It all starts right now.

Who Dey! Certainly not Skeletor
Also, the teams we are rooting for today:
Bengals, Giants, Browns, Rams, Broncos, Raiders, Patriots, Vikings, Lions, Eagles, and Seahawks. The only games that don’t have bearing on the Bengals and Jets playoff chances are Packers v. Bears & Buccaneers v. Panthers. That’s crazy.

You could argue either way for the Browns/Ravens game.
If the Ravens win, that puts them one step closer to locking up the division, and thus resting players next week.

LET'SSSSSSSSSSSSS!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
As Brian Buffer of UFC says…. “Ladies and gentlemen…. IT IS TIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!”
I’m so pumped!! Already have my orange and black on and getting ready to head over to the stadium to get the food cooking baby!!
As for the Bengals themselves, run the football, stop the run, and get to the QB. John Skelton is going to be seeing the Bengals D-line in his sleep after this game. WHO MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY?!

I could have sworn I remember a Christmas that fell on a Sunday where they played NFL games anyways.
Am I crazy, or is this a new thing?
Yes!
There was. Can’t remember when, I’ll have to ask the Rainman when that was, (haha) but the NFL plays on all Holidays that the games fall on. No skipping the games b/c of the Holidays..
Damn computer!
They have been playing on Sat and Sun for quite a while now and always have played on Xmas when it falls on it. I haven’t heard of anything in the new labor deal saying otherwise.
My kids got to open 1 present each today....guess what they were
Andy Dalton and AJ Green jerseys and a football….they are going nuts right now……..WHODEY

Find another target......even CBS is being a smarta___ about our receivers
Dec. 23, 2011 5:48 p.m. – by Paul Dehner Jr. – 3 keys to a Bengals win: No. 1 — Find another target
Whether it be WR Jerome Simpson or TE Jermaine Gresham or another wideout, Cincinnati needs to find another passing weapon besides WR A.J. Green. The rookie has been phenomenal, but he’s caught better than 50 percent of the completions to receivers over the past four weeks and needs help from somebody else, particularly against Arizona’s top draft pick: CB Patrick Peterson. Bengals RapidReports
it makes me slightly mental
the bengals finally have a real te and refuse to use him the way he should be. its like having a muscle car that sits in your driveway more than gets driven.
gresham should be the guy in cincy. need a 1st down, throw it to gresham. need to make teams think twice about putting 8 in the box, throw it to gresham. think aj green needs double coverage? throw it to gresham. think you’re going to blitz dalton, throw it to gresham.
as fans we spend more time wondering after each game, why the bengals didn’t utilize gresham as a receiver than any other issue on offense in 2011.
" Mike Brown is the owner that Cincy doesn't deserve, not the one it needs..."
its crazy how bad hes been misused
Then you see a similar player in rob gronkowski, who went after gresh, setting records.

I wonder if there keeping him in to block
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
that would lead me to think
They feel the line is in desperate need of help, doesnt matter if they target a guy when his QB is running for his life

im listening to browns talk shows
And they’re saying if rg3 is there around the browns pick that could very well be the pick. Would you guys be more scared of the browns with rg3 or someone like blackmon or alshon Jeffrey?

Glad people finally realized that the Brown's nominal success last year was because of the work of Hillis, not McCoy.

browns favorite qb is always their backup
I still think mccoy could be ok. He just has nothing to work with. I think if they get a reciever like blackmon, and he can just do what dalton does and trust his reciever to make a play, he’d be a lot better. But also rg3 can make their marginal recievers look better because he throws a damn near perfect deep ball.

Simpson and Caldwell probably have about 3 TD chances a game between them.

mccoy and blackmon
current wideouts are practically garbage outside of watson and moore.

shrug. little sucks.
leads all nfl receivers with drops. has like 107 targets and only 57 receptions. the browns need a WR more than anything else on offense.
if the browns had drew brees at qb, he couldn’t find a receiver currently on the browns roster to hit for clutch plays or scores.

Christmas on Sunday
This isn’t the first time the NFL moved games up to Saturday for Christmas. In fact it’s what they’ve been doing since at least the beginning of the 80s.
They did the same thing in 2005, leaving two games on Sunday but moving all but the MNF game to Saturday. The Bengals lost to the Bills 27-37.
The NFL did the same thing in 1994, moving all but the Detroit/Dolphins to Saturday.
No bye week in 1988, so the regular season was over by week 17. They played no playoff games on Sunday, morning Houston/Cleveland to the 24th. Same thing in 1983, first weekend of the playoffs and no games were played on Christmas.

I use it every week on my old laptop
I won’t lie it’s kind of a shady site regarding potential viruses and about 3 weeks I think it gave my computer what appeared to be a virus. I just reset the setting to the previous day and it seemed to be fine. Again, I’ve heard people have had issues with this site before and that’s why when I put the game on now I always use my old Laptop that’s pretty much a cheap piece of sh##.

what do you use to review tape…meaning…how do you get the snap count data? Do you use NFL rewind or just stats from somewhere else

Does anyone know how sling box works?
I was wandering if there would be a way to use sling box to watch the game from someone tv who is not blacked out, assuming we could get it set up with some one from out of town (who is not blacked out). How many users are alowed to use a sling box at a time (is there a limit) because I think you just have to type in a code or something to get the @ home TV to show up on your PC. Not even sure this is a possiblity but thought it could be a safe an creative loophole for us all to be able to watch the game if we could figure out a way to make it work. I’m not the most technically savy person out there but trying to think outside the box and just throwing the idea out there to see if there might be a way to make work
eventually the NFL will get smart and charge for online viewing....that is not DirectTV
they would make millions if they sold the game online for 10-15 bucks per game….I know Mikey wouldnt like it but I think he would if he got a cut of the proceeds

“The Bengals will try and log only their second victory of the season against a non-losing team. "
actually we haven’t beat a team with a winning record yet. we have 2 wins against the titans and seahawks, both teams sit at 7-7. good news i guess, since the cards are a .500 team as well..
