Palmer to Bears?
Here is a trade thought that could benefit both teams. Carson Palmer wants out of Cincy. The fans of Chicago want Jay Cutler's head and won't let him forget the playoff loss last year. So what if Cincy sends Palmer and a 3rd round pick to Chicago for their 1st round pick and Jay Cutler. Mikey sends Palmer to a colder place, not Cali or Arizona where Palmer wants to go and Cincy gets a QB. Thoughts?

Please god no…..we need a new face of this franchise. Jay Cutler wasn’t good enough as the face of the franchise for either Denver or currently in Chicago…..no thanks on that one.

I would take Jay Cutler everyday over Kevin Kolb or anyone else available.
Cutler is actually pretty good, never really had much of an offense around him. He got hit soooo much this year, kept his head up until he tore his MCL.
I think his own team were lining up to hit him at the end of the year……of course a few came to his defense (required reaction from team leaders), but have to believe that locker room isn’t exactly sold on him being “the guy.” I think he’s a punk, plain and simple. Guy had a great offense in Denver and they hated him there. He and Brandon Marshall were two peas in a pod……no one can stand either. Draft a QB (not in 1st this year) and sign a veteran….don’t bring in another problem. We don’t need anymore, currently we have enough.

I think Cutler is a punk, but you can’t deny the fact that he played with a 87 QB rating and led his team to the NFC Championship – with an offensive line that gave up 52 sacks on him.

Agree with Blue Steel on one point, but.......
There is no denying what he helped that team accomplish and getting to the NFC Championship game…..but my hope for the future (next 5-10 years) with this franchise is a more “drama free” type of franchise. Cutler = Drama. Bring in someone new at QB, let the youth movement continue and rid the roster of selfish (Ocho) and washed up (Tank, Roy Williams, Geathers, etc.) players. We have a nice core group on both sides we could build around (Whit, Gresham, Shipley, Scott on O……Rey, Rivers, Dunlap and Hall on D) and with a nice draft we still have some hope for the immediate future.

agreed
I wasn’t saying I want Cutler. But, I think he was far more valuable to the Bears than even the Bears fans realize. Prior to this season, they were expected to have a dismal year.

Palmer would retire in a heart beat.
He ONLY wants warm weather teams.
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
Are you serious?
I want the 30 seconds back it took me to read this. I couldn’t believe what I just read. Jay Cutler?
God Nooooooooo!!
Haine<Cutler
I liked what I saw from him more than I did with Cutler. Also, imagine Cutler behind our line. GOOD GOD NO!
Flying is as simple as throwing yourself at the ground and missing
my point still stands though.
I would only want him behind a line that has no evident weaknesses, like we have at guard

I think they'll address LG via the draft this year
Regardless, i don’t want Cutler either, and I don’t think the Bears would make that trade anyways.
Fight Bengals Fatalism!
No thanks
I definitely don’t want any part of Cutler-drama.
2011 and beyond. Only one thing came true on the last wishlist.
This year's wishlist
1. Bengals win Super Bowl (Something I hope for every year)
2. Reds win the World Series(or at least a playoff game)
3. Ohio State Wins a Big 10 title
4. Cavaliers actually finish with a winning record
5. Wings win the Cup

I would take Cutler
I think he was wrongfully attacked during the playoffs. You don’t question a guy’s injury or heart, or whether or not he could have played. Only Cutler and the med staff can say that. He also plays every day with Type 1 diabetes. He has all the heart in the world.

Yeah but...
Bonnie, look at the body of work. He’s iffy at best. He had a decent year bu thre were times he just threw it up for grabs when it didn’t make sense! From what I’ve witnessed (and I have to cause my friend is a Bears fan), he isn’t a good decision maker. That, and he would be coming off an injury too??? Nah.. I say pass..
2012 - Playoff bound!!!
Hey Bonnie
IMO, Cutler is a crybaby. He whines about everything and needs to grow up. That wouldn’t go well here in Cincy. This coupled with his decision making skills, (or lack of) just isn’t the right fit. To me, it’s not about his injury.
i disagree
i live in chicago and am surrounded by bears fans. Cutler isn’t really a crybaby, he’s more of an “indifferent” guy when it comes to emotions…his big problem was he didn’t look/act hurt during that game. Yes there are some Chicago fans who want him gone, but there are just as many that know he’s the best QB they had in 20 years (kinda like us). Furthermore, the ENTIRE Bears organization is behind him, and he wants to play here…..Cutler is going nowhere. (For the record I wouldn’t want him either, just defending the guy who got knocked around more than any other QB this year….toughness- Cutler has it, end of story)
The Curse of Bo Jackson: Jan 13th,1991- present day
My opinion is based on when he was with Denver
and not so much with Chicago and with the way he carries himself. Yeah he was knocked on his ass more times than any QB this year, I just think he hid his attitude last year and it will come out again. Watch and see… To me, he’s the kind of person that has to show it and definitely will again.
To me it's obvious..
that Kyle Orton was the best QB the Bears have had since I started watching football in 1980, and looking at the list of all the QBs in their history it looks like you have to go back to the 50s to find a good one.
i dont want him
But the guy could be a great qb. He’s as good as he is basically off talent alone. Everything I’ve heard about him is he dosent take the time to do the little things right. Like film study and footwork. If this guy would put in the time he could be a top 5 qb if that’s true.

That is incredbily ignorant,
give me one factual piece of evidence that shows hes a “cry baby” the dude, despite his character issues, is one of the toughest players in the league and has never whined or cried about playing behind THE worst O-line over the past two years. Stop drinking the national media kool aid and listening to cowardly player tweets. Im not saying hes the player we want but hes definetley not as bad as most people here (or outside the city of chicago) think he is. Its distasteful to think so many NFL fans are so ill informed in this day and age fast media news cycle
Well, actually he doesn't interact well w/ the media, which is why his image is what it is.
So I totally agree w/ you, other than on the “fast media news cycle point.” Clearly they are part of the problem in this rather than the solution. In this day and age you have to be a happy, outgoing, rah rah type athlete, or someone will attempt to paint a not so pretty picture of you.
Jay Cutler is not a guy that ever really looks like he’s happy or having fun, so there is obviously something wrong with him.
I don't care if he is rude/indifferent to the media..
he’s a bonehead who shows no desire. He was personally challenged by Philip Rivers and got blown out worse than Air Bud vs The Blind Side and didn’t seem to care.

I’d like to see some of his critics take 52 sacks in one regular season and tell me he’s a “cry baby”. Not that I’m a fan of Cutler, I still think he’s a punk. And the MCL incident in the playoffs was completely overblown. The question he and the team have to ask, is not whether or not he is capable of getting back on the field – but if it is beneficial for him to still be playing? By going out there on one leg, he could be lowering his team’s chances of winning. Everyone always alludes to the famous game of Walter Reed returning from the lockerroom to play – but what most don’t realize is he barely contributed the rest of the game.

Totally agree. Our O Line would be an improvement for him.
