With the sixth pick in the 2011 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...
Marcell Dareus, DL, Alabama
The Browns get a real steal here with the sixth pick. Most mock drafts have Cleveland taking a WR, and while that would have been my pick, I couldn't pass up on an impact defensive player. Marcell Dareus is a top three defensive player in this draft. Not only is he the best defensive player available at this pick, Dareus fills a huge need for Cleveland.
The Browns have hired Dick Jauron as their defensive coordinator and that means they will run a 4-3 defense again. The change in scheme and release of former Pro-Bowler (not the PBA) Shaun Rogers creates a huge hole at defensive tackle. Even though the defensive line depth is very strong this year, the need for defensive line help doesn't afford the Browns the opportunity to wait.
Marcell Dareus has risen up draft boards over the past few weeks. He had a great combine performance by showing up at 319 lbs and carrying it very well in every drill. While he played mostly defensive end in Alabama's 3-4 base defense, Dareus is better suited at defensive tackle. Because he's never really played DT, Dareus hasn't come close to reaching his potential. He plays with power and sudden quickness that makes him a tough player to block. Dareus has the versatility to play nose or under tackle in Jauron's cover 2 scheme and should give the Bengals offensive line fits twice a year.

A steal for Cleveland.
Hankerson in the second and suddenly they have starters to lean on, on offense and defense.
I'm a little jealous
I feel like we just got the BumbleBee transformer for Christmas, which is cool, but our brother just got Optimus Prime.

Upon further consideration, I really would have switched this pick and the previous one if I was doing up a draft on my own. I mean, Dareus ran a 3-4 in college, the Cards are a 3-4. Bowers was in a 4-3, the Browns are converting to a 4-3.
Then again, some teams have competent position coaches who can draft a player slightly out-of-position and train them up to become what is needed. I’m just not sure that either of these teams are among those.
