With the No. 13 pick in the 2011 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select...

 Cameron Jordan - DE/DT California

The Detroit Lions, yes the Lions, are a team on the rise, and could very well compete for a playoff spot next season.   While their division is tough with the likes of the defending Super Bowl Champion Packers and Division Champion Bears, the Lions certainly have the pieces in place to have a successful 2011 season and beyond.    One such piece is DT Ndamukong Suh. Suh's emergence as one of the league's best defensive lineman after only his rookie season is beyond extraordinary. Along with earning a Pro Bowl berth, Suh was named an All-Pro - a feat truly impressive for a rookie.

With their first pick, the Lions forego beefing up the offensive line (for now), and instead opt to add weapons around Suh, which will serve to strengthen the entire Lions defense. California DE/DT Cameron Jordan, arguably the best player left on the board in the Cincy Jungle draft, is one such weapon. Jordan had a great senior season and followed that up with an incredible performance during Senior Bowl week. Additionally, after a very impressive scouting combine and pro day, Jordan is fast rising on many draft boards where he was already ranked very high. Jordan has the athletic ability to play both DE positions, and also the versatility, strength, and bulk to move inside to DT. Jordan will pair with Suh, and veterans Corey Williams and Kyle Vanden Bosch, to form one of the most intimidating and athletic defensive lines in the NFL. The vision of Jordan wreaking havoc next to Suh for the next decade will certainly excite the Lions' front office and fans. Cameron Jordan's overall talent is simply too good for the Lions to pass up with the 13th pick.
