The Cincinnati Bengals will hold a private workout for San Diego State's Vincent Brown on March 29, according to National Football Post's Aaron Wilson. Named to the All-Western Athletic Conference, Brown posted 69 receptions, 1,352 yards receiving and ten touchdowns during his final year with the Aztecs. In the final three games of his collegiate career against TCU, Utah and UNLV, Brown posted six touchdowns on 17 receptions and 425 yards receiving.
ESPN's Draft Tracker grades Brown as the 14 best wide receiver prospect with average grades in separation, ball skills, big-play ability, intangibles and size. His durability is questionable:
Left the 2008 Wyoming game with a concussion. Injured right thumb during 2009 Colorado State game and underwent surgery to repair ligaments, missing the final five games of the season.
However, Brown has high remarks for competitiveness and toughness.
Goes up and competes for jump balls and willing to lay out in an effort to make a play. Plays with a chip on shoulder and physical blocker for size. Flashes a violent punch and works hard at staying between defender and the ball. San Diego State even pulls him and uses him to seal the backside defensive end at times. Pursues after an interception.
Mocking the Draft favors Brown a little more, listing him as the tenth-best wide receiver prospect in this year's draft.
