Julio Jones On His Surgically Repaired Foot: Everything Went Great With The Recheck

Stay connected for news and updates

As we've pointed out before, Peter King once wrote that the Bengals held Alabama's Julio Jones higher on their draft board than Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green, who is often praised as being the best wide receiver in this year's draft. It even made us think if the Bengals shouldn't find a trade partner, allowing the team to drop back in the draft and still acquire Jones while picking up another draft pick.

During the NFL Combine, Jones ran a 4.39 40-time on a fractured foot that would require surgery. Dr. Robert Anderson reportedly inserted a screw into Jones' foot. Over the weekend, Jones had his foot reexamined and writes on his twitter account:

"Everything went great in Indianapolis with the recheck."

Jones is a potential target for the Bengals because the team favors his blocking and work ethic over that of Green's athleticism. Jones visited Cincinnati and the Bengals this past week.
