With the fifty-first pick in the 2011 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select...

Martez Wilson, MLB, Illinois

The Bucs, coming off a 10-6 record that was mostly gained at the effort of its outstanding, young offense, need to focus almost entirely on defense this draft outside of the occasional lineman pick. While the season comes off as an immediate one-year-wonder for a team that probably overachieved a good deal, Josh Freeman, LeGarrette Blount, Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, and Kelly Winslow, Jr. will only improve with another year under their belts and another offseason to prepare together with one another.

Star-divide

So the Bucs need to focus on defense. In the last round, they managed to get a great edge rusher in Ryan Kerrigan that may improve their DLine to almost the level of some of the best DLines in the league, providing his presence allows second-year tackles Brian Pryce and Gerald McCoy to improve and grow into the roles they were drafted to fill. A(nother) defensive end is still a possibility but given the absolute run on them, it seems like the value over other positions isn't worth it.

Given Aqib Talib's recent legal issues, a new CB may be in order to replace Talib for awhile as well as eventually start to take over for the aging Ronde Barber, and although options like Brandon Burton and Curtis Brown on the board, the value's not there.

That linebacking corps could stand to be upgraded at all positions. SLB, WLB, MLB, all were league average or worse, and with the news that Barrett Ruud, their starting MLB this past season, will not be returned, the Bucs have an obvious need at LB. Conveniently enough, the best MLB in the draft is still available.

The Bucs pick Martez Wilson.
