DRAFT WITH LOCKOUT STILL IN PLACE
IMO...this would be my dream draft that addresses all needs with quality performers. Let me know what you all think. Posting live from Afghanistan!
1st Round - WR - A.J. Green (We cannot yet depend on Simpson and Caldwell to be the starters for us)
2nd Round - QB - Andy Dalton (Could be Ponder if available, but Dalton is a proven winner with same specs)
3rd Round - FS - Quinton Carter (Top 3 Safety in Draft)
4th Round - OG - John Moffitt (1st Team All-American OL from Wisconsin)
5th Round - RB - Alex Green (All around back moving up draft boards, 6-2 225lbs, 4.4 speed, led nation with 8.4 YPC, out of Hawaii though)
6th Round - DT - Lawrence Guy (Big time sleeper here at 6-5 305lbs, under the radar at AZ State)
7th Round - OLB - Bruce Miller (Please watch some tape on this kid, you will want him. Non-stop motor that is always in the backfield. DPOY in his conference at Central Florida)
7th Round - CB - Chykie Brown (Good CB out of Texas with 4.3 speed, but broke his forearm and missed last 6 games)
DRAFT WITH NO LOCKOUT
A few changes happen here with a few trades that I think they could actually pull off if Mike Brown allows.
1st Round - WR - A.J. Green, Georgia
1st Round - OT - Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin (Traded Palmer to Seattle for their 25th pick)
2nd Round - QB - Andy Dalton, TCU
3rd Round - FS - Quinton Carter, Oklahoma
3rd Round - RB - DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma (Traded Ocho to Pats for 74th pick)
4th Round - OG - John Moffitt, Wisconsin
5th Round - CB - Curtis Marsh, Utah State
6th Round - DT - Lawrence Guy, AZ State
7th Round - OLB - Bruce Miller, Central Florida
7th Round - WR - Aldrick Robinson, SMU (Think Steve Smith, Desean Jackson, Percy Harvin, Jocoby Ford)
I know that I do not have a DE listed. However, I do not think there will be one worth picking in the later rounds that would be more effective than Lawrence Guy in the 6th Round. DE's will get really thin after these first two rounds. I would also like to bring in a veteran QB like Bruce Gradkowski to compete and help the young QB's in the new WCO. I also would like them to schedule a workout for DT - Tommie Harris. I believe Mike Brown will be jumping all over this. Big name that used to be a impact player for a low price.
