Joe Goodberry's NFL Draft Big Board

Happy draft week! As your appointed community Draftnik, I'll be here with you guys throughout the NFL Draft process. Make sure you join me in the Cincy Jungle open threads during all three days of the NFL draft starting this Thursday at 7:30 pm.

Before the draft starts, I'll give you my Bengals mock draft on Thursday morning and my big board today. My board consists of 254 players (because there's 254 picks this year). All rankings are done by my own evaluations and feelings towards the players by watching coach's tape, TV broadcasts, reading scouting reports, and talking to knowledgeable draft people. If I don't have somebody listed, it's because I didn't get to see them play enough and didn't get a good enough feel for the player to accurately rank them. I listed the player's positions as how they would fit on the Bengals roster. As the draft goes along, I'll cross off the selected players so we can see who the best remaining players are. Judge Nelson DENIES THE STAY!

So (at least until the 8th District court rules) the lockout is over. The biggest part of this, per Schefter:

Judge ordered NFL to start its league year immediately, but said no team is obligated to sign free agents. Trades in question.

The league year business was why the NFL was delaying— since the 2010 rules are expired they claimed they needed time to develop new rules. Judge Nelson said no.

Could be huge— our delusions about Mikey possibly trading Carson before/during the draft would at least be legally sound. :)

And yet I'll do it again...

From what I’m gathering, Judge Nelson basically said the owners can decide whether to go ahead with free agency and trades, BUT that they will have to face the consequences of whatever they decide. This is important because if all teams decide NOT to go ahead with the league year then they’ll essentially be proving the players’ claim of collusion, which is at the core of the anti-trust issues. So now we wait and see how the league will proceed.

Question: Does Marcus Cannon’s non-Hodgkins lymphoma(treatable by way of four rounds chemo) effect his ranking?

Not here

I knew about his condition after the combine. He’s getting treated and should be done with his Chemo in june. I’ve always had him as a late 2nd-early 3rd.

It will affect his draft status. He probably looks like a 4-5 round pick now.
