2011 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft - Round 2 - The Atlanta Falcons Select...

For the No. 59 pick in the second-annual Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, Joe Goodberry selected is for the Atlanta Falcons who have the standard three picks available. Here is the pick...

Ryan Williams - RB - Virginia Tech

After going defense in round one with hometown defensive end Justin Houston from Georgia. The Falcons next biggest needs are offensive. They could use a reciever or tight end. I think a need that's just as big as those is running back. Michael Turner is the starter and has done well since his arrival, but they have really given him an unnecessary load. Todays backs don't carry the ball 300+ times a season anymore. You need a compliment runner to change the pace and give your main back a break. Atlanta needs to get more explosive offensively. I tried to help them out by selecting running back Ryan Williams of Virginia Tech.

Ryan Williams has battled injuries throught his time at Virginia Tech. Had he not been injured, Williams would be garnering more first round talk. When he played, he was very explosive and knew how to keep the chains moving. Williams is a one-cut back with great vision, burst, and agility. His explosion through the hole and through arm tackles make him a hard guy to tackle. He looks very similar to Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams. Ryan Williams would give the Falcons a great change of pace with the chance to hit the home run on any given run.

Question...

Isn’t Jerious Norwood in the mix as a back and isn’t he productive? Seems like a move that doesn’t need to be made with the combination of Turner and Norwood. Just seems like a redundant move.
