The Bengals have traditionally been pretty balanced offense/defense in their recent draft history. Since 2001, they've drafted 42 offensive players, 39 defensive players and 2 special teams players. Coach Lewis' comment "my boss loves offense" is true but it's not like we're the Colts on draft day.
There is one trend that has been pretty consistent: if we're worse on offense the previous year, we draft more offensive players in the next draft - and the same holds true on defense. Given that our defense was ranked slightly higher than our offense, I expect the Bengals to draft 5 players on offense and 3 players on defense.
