The NFL Players were originally expected to vote for a deal on Thursday night, during a conference call after the owners' announcement. Once they did, the players took exception to some of the things that owners included, such as a supplemental revenue sharing and a deadline for recertification of the union. NFL players tweeted, or twitter bombed, their emotional responses. Late Thursday night, the word that a vote could come down Friday afternoon surfaced. Then during Friday afternoon, reports surfaced that a vote wasn't likely to take place on Friday.
Now it probably won't even happen this weekend.
According to an email obtained by ESPN (via PFT), the NFLPA will work this weekend to review the proposal and will update the players after the weekend.
“Our recommendation is for everyone to stay put and keep doing what you are doing where you are doing it. We will meet again Monday to discuss our options and the direction we want to go. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. Your player reps.”
