Report: Former TCU Receiver Bart Johnson To Sign With Bengals

Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton will have a familiar target in the receiving core with the signing of former Texas Christian University (TCU) receiver Bart Johnson today. According to his father, Bart has been working out with Andy all summer at TCU. He measures in at 6'0 and 195 pounds and was named an ESPN second Team Academic All-American.

Bart recorded at least 30 catches in the previous two seasons, including a touchdown in TCU's Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin. He also recovered an onside kick during that game to help seal the victory. A model of consistency, Bart recorded a reception in 31 straight games. He finished his career at TCU with 85 total receptions for 1,098 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Bart will most likely be competing with Quan Cosby and Ryan Whalen for a roster spot and may find himself on the practice squad.
