According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Cincinnati Bengals signed undrafted free agent running back Steven Robinson out of Hampton University. In his final two seasons with the Hampton Pirates, the five-foot-11 Robinson rushed for 914 yards on 177 carries for a 5.2 yard/rush average and nine touchdowns. Robinson recorded a 4.47 40-yard dash at William and Mary's Pro Day in mid-March.

ESPN's Draft Tracker (In$ider), ranked Robinson as the 70th best running back coming into the 2011 NFL Draft.

Robinson marks the third undrafted free agent signed at running back, which includes ECU's Jonathan Williams and UMASS' John Griffin. They join a roster of Bernard Scott, Cedric Peerman and Jay Finley (seventh-round pick in 2011) in Georgetown while Cedric Benson and Brian Leonard currently sit idle on the free agent market. The Bengals typically take 3-4 running backs out of the preseason, while adding another on the team's practice squad.

Robinson marks the 17th undrafted free agent that the Bengals have signed.
