Remember earlier this afternoon when we posted details on Deuce Lutui's contract being two years for $8.75 million? Remember how we pointed out that the $5 million he would earn during his first season with the Bengals could suggest that's the favorite to start at left guard?
Yes, of course you do. You spend every waking moment on this site (what was I thinking).
Well, you might as well forget it.
Lutui failed his physical #bengals
By failing his physical, the agreement between Lutui and the Bengals should be void and Lutui will be a free agent again.
What's amazing is that the Bengals actually found something to fail in the physical. After the debacle from the Antonio Bryant disaster last year, we were confident that a physical only consisted of a player swearing to the honor system that there was nothing wrong.
As for the position, it's back to a pre-Friday scenario with the starting candidates being Bobbie Williams and Nate Livings with Clint Boling backing up.
As for Lutui, Adam Schefter tweets that the guard has since returned to the Cardinals.
After G Deuce Litui flunked his physical in Cincinnati for being overweight, he has decided to return to the Cardinals. Big pickup.
Yes. The same question is in my mind. If the Bengals failed his physical, how could the Cardinals pass him?
