Bengals Claim Artrell Hawkins Younger Brother Off Waivers
Andre Caldwell, the Cincinnati Bengals most experienced wide receiver, has 855 yards receiving on 87 receptions, leading a roster of inexperience though explosive with talent. With so much inexperience at wide receiver and a rookie quarterback starting the first regular season game of the year for the first time since Greg Cook in 1969, we have absolutely no idea what to expect when the season kicks off.
So it makes sense that the Bengals claimed wide receiver Andrew Hawkins from the St. Louis Rams on Monday.
Per @hbalzer721 Former Rams WR Andrew Hawkins claimed off waivers by #bengals. Saints also put in a claim
Hawkins, the younger brother of former Bengals defensive back Artrell Hawkins, spent two seasons with the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes, posting 41 receptions for 457 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

I generally support Mike Brown...
But I cannot stand by this. Artrell Hawkins angered me on every play. This is a poor attempt to add veteran depth.

That is still no excuse...
The Hawkins should be forgotten.

Really?
We’re picking up the CFL’s scraps? What, was the dumpster behind the Detroit Lions already picked clean?

Hate to run this issue into the ground...
But this article does a great job of explaining why Carson has screwed us in more ways than one. And this is probably the worse way:

Confused??
Why on earth don’t we go after a legit experienced reciever. like malcom floyd or resign TO…….sombody who ha splayed more than 4 gamess!!!
We don't need a Malcolm Floyd. And TO? You were here last year right?
by Cry on Aug 1, 2011 8:48 PM EDT up reply actions
Yes
but TO honeslty had his best season in years…and he wont have to deal with chad.. he will be the number one target….
he gave up on any underthrown ball and let them get picked.
Stats dont tell the whole story with to. And why would you want to bury aj green, Jerome Simpson, and ship?

hate to say this but anybody that considers TO to having a good year last year should not be giving advice on recievers.
he had good stats
But that dosent mean much if you actually watched him play.

We've gone over this countless times but let's do it again...
This team isn’t a team “on the verge”. We know this and we have all begun to accept this. Patching some scrap heap “experienced” WR to clog up the development of these young and believe it or not, talented WR provides very little to this team.
why go after donte whitner
when you can sign a Rams castoff receiver who has a two percent chance sticking as one of your six best?
Half of the people
think they signed Artrell Hawkins to a 7 year deal.
Competition is good
nothing wrong with bring in a guy with legit 4.3 speed and shaking things up a bit. You make guys have to wonder. He wont make the team, but stranger things have happened.
