PrintAs former Bengals Roy Williams is checking out new avenues for a post-playing career (as well as spending more time with his family), former Bengals defensive tackle Tank Johnson decided to sit out this season to spend with his own family.

The Bengals signed Tank Johnson in 2009 to a one-year deal, playing well enough to be awarded a four-year deal in 2010. Cincinnati released Tank on August 16 after only one season, due to make $2.25 million in 2011. Though the issue might not have been completely monetary. Behind Tank was a good-sized youth movement at defensive tackle with Domata Peko leading guys like Geno Atkins and Clinton McDonald.
