Roster Lock Prediction #36: Bengals Fullback Chris Pressley
It was actually coincidence that Chris Pressley was our 36th roster lock for the 2011 roster; which is the same number as his uniform. But really it was a forgone conclusion that we eventually were going to lock Pressley into the team's 2011 roster. And the only reason we didn't was because the team has historically surprised us with their choices. In 2009 they picked an overweight Jeremi Johnson (who left the NFL after that season), over Pressley who went to the practice squad and then Tampa Bay. In 2010 they used a combination of tight end Reggie Kelly, linebacker Dan Skuta and (as I was reminded) defensive tackle Domata Peko.
Pressley rejoined the team, playing the final quarter of the season last year. Though the Bob Bratkowski offense didn't utilize Pressley much, during games in which the fullback played over 25 snaps (the Chargers and Browns), the Cincinnati Bengals rushing offense put together their best two-game rushing performance (290 yards rushing) of the year. Pressley has continued growing during his stay in Cincinnati, putting together a good training camp and an even better preseason, helping the Bengals rush for nearly 200 yards rushing (though Pressley didn't play much in the second half).

I remember Pressley from HBO.
They did an interview with him about how he was grinding. It was Jeremi Johnson, Pressley and Fui.
I just remember watching and thinking “This is a high character, mega effort guy who looks like he hits like a sledgehammer, this is who they need.” Fui seemed overwhelmed and Johnson seemed like he’d never arrive at camp without 40lbs of donut weight.
I was disappointed when they threw him to the practice squad, I was crushed when he went to tampa, and I was thrilled when they brought him back.
Pressley is another guy who can be like Lorenzo Neal was for us, get into that hole and snowplow defenders out of the way.
Definitely a fan.
