By end of day Friday teams are going to have to be under the 120 mil cap. There are some teams out there that are over the cap by quite a bit and will likely have to make some cuts if they can't figure out how to re-structure some contracts. These teams include:
Raiders - $17, Steelers - $11, Texans - $8.5, Vikings - $5.6, Lions - $5, Cowboys - $3.7 and Panthers - under 1 mil
(numbers subject to change or have already, but are roughly accurate)
I'm sure Mike Brown is salivating at the thought there will be some players forced into a position where they will have to take a one year deal at less than nothing. I wonder if certain conversations "have cooled" for this very reason. It will be interesting to see what these teams do to get under the cap and what names pop up and become available.
