Bengals players and coaches have a rare opportunity to take advantage of Mike Brown's ineptness this year

One thing I'm fairly sure most (if not all) Bengal fans will agree on, is that we have one of the worst owners in the NFL.  This offseason has just added to Mike Brown's inept image, starting with CP9 electing to retire rather than return to the Bengals, trading Chad to the Patriots for 2 late round picks when we were offered two #1's for him just a few years ago, along with everything else that has happend this crazy off season.  Because of the dark cloud our owner has cast over this franchise there are really no expectations for the Bengals to do anything this year.

Having said that, this off season more than any I can remember should give our players and coaches an opportunity to take advantage of our owner's garbage image.  This team beleive it or not actually has an unbelievabley talented roster with tons of potential, to go along with hopefully some creative offensive and defensive minds.   We have a number of raw "freakish" athletes on this roster (Donte Moch, Jerome Simpson, Michael Johnson, Thomas Howard, etc.) to go along with several other beastly position players (Jermaine Gresham, Carlos Dunlop, AJ Green, etc.) on both sides of the ball.

The motto for this team should be "go for it".  Our defensive coaches should have our defense playing with a reckless abandon mentality, bringing the house a lot, being more aggresive, and taking more chances.  Our offensive coaches should have the same philosophy as the defense, thow it down field a few times and let the WR's go up and get it, take more chances in the play calling,  and let the play makers make plays.  Our players should also have this attitude (i.e. if a balls in the air and our player has a chance for an int. or a chance to give up a big play, he should go for the int.), we do NOT want to play it safe, we want to be aggressive and make our own big plays this year.  If we give up a big play the other way, oh well at least we went for it.  Most of our roster consist of either young players,  or players who are on 1 or 2 year deals, if the young ones fail they can use the excuse of being young and inexperienced, everyone else can just keep using the same old excuse that the franchise sucks.  Not only do our player have cover but our coaches also have a bulit in safety net (excuse) this year ( "we lost are all pro QB, our all time leading reciever, and our best defensive player in the off season").  Basically it boils down to the fact player and coaches have a unique opportunity to just go for it with out looking bad.  If they suceed they will be praised for winning in an impossible situation, if they loose it's Mike Brown's fault and no one will argue that point.  Tehrefore, our players and coaches can come into this season with the attitude that they have nothing to loose and everything to gain and who knows maybe we'll surprise some people this year with a new more aggressive style!!
