Living only a short drive from Georgetown, KY, I am no stranger to Bengals Training Camp. I get the same parking spot on campus every year, walk the same route to the stadium, use the same routine to meet the players. These are things a lot of Bengals Nation are not fortunate enough to get to do.
This blog is littered with camp updates such as who is looking good, who has what injury and who will be cut in the coming weeks. And my question is this...how much of this Bengals news is actually relevant? While this news is appealing to certain fans, will it even matter if we go 4-0 in the preseason? Yeah so, Quan Cosby in your eyes, looks like he could be our third WR based on the practice you saw in Georgetown. But aren't the Detroit Lions fans saying the same things about their players as well? "He looks good, he plays hard, he has a weak arm."
Nothing matters until those chin straps get strapped up in September. We all know Marvin will opt for experience when the season starts and go with Gradkowski as his Quarterback. Jerome Simpson will unlikely pick up where he left off last season. We will also finally see how important it was to re-sign Joseph.
Despite what optimism you may see, it is going to be a long season in Cincinnati. I'm sure I will crack and decide to head down to Paul Brown, regardless. : ( Bungalized.
