Second Half Open Thread: Cincinnati Bengals At Cleveland Browns

The tale of two quarters was an emotional roller coaster at best. Cincinnati scored on their first three possessions, stuffing the Browns defense to take a 13-point lead. Momentum shifted, largely after Joshua Cribbs' 51-yard kickoff return early in the second quarter. Colt McCoy and the Browns depended on big plays to move the ball, though the Bengals defense regained their composure to limit Cleveland's offensive momentum.

Now the Bengals gear up to take the opening kickoff in the second half with the same formula they used in the first quarter.

Love what I saw from the Bengals

and Dalton especially. Gruden did well in drafting him. Now for the next draft, get some new guards otherwise he’ll be getting knocked out in the first half week after week.
For a rook, Dalton can play now. Unfortunately him getting sacked and smacked around will continue til he’s out for the season.

If the Bengals come back and win this game (and they can)

Browns can blame it on the penalties. They have like 90 of them right now. The refs are going to have to ice their arms from throwing so many of them

if the bengals lose they can blame it on 2 things

1) failure by our dline to dominate

2) failure by our o to utilize the WCO. sceens and TEs arent being used effectively by cincy today. and if you are running WCO and cant screen or hit a TE, its a fail game plan.

I know

But it was just so refreshing to see the Bengals do that. I can’t think of the last time I’ve seen the Bengals take advantage like that, instead of the Bengals being on the opposite side of it.

Yep.

Still think Dalton would’ve been better overall, but that play worked b/c Grad’s been around a while.
