+ The Denver Broncos took quiet a hit on Monday night, suffering several injuries to players like wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, cornerback Champ Bailey and running back Knowshon Moreno. Elvis Dumervil, who suffered a shoulder injury, could be out against the Cincinnati Bengals according to Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post.
Elvis Dumervil, nursing a shoulder injury and unlikely to be chasing Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton on Sunday."I try to look at the better side of things and I think I could be back in a week or two," Dumervil said Wednesday. The former fourth-round draft pick who set a Denver record with a league-leading 17 sacks in 2009 doesn't want to rush back and risk reinjuring himself.
Dumervil missed last season because a torn chest muscle, then injured his left shoulder in practice last Friday. Dumervil took part in the team's workout Saturday and the walk-through a day later, but aggravated the injury Monday on the Broncos' fourth defensive snap of a 23-20 loss to the Raiders. "It was definitely frustrating to do it," Dumervil said.
"It still is definitely frustrating." Already wearing a brace on the shoulder when the Broncos' season opener began, Dumervil attempted to play only on passing downs after aggravating the injury early in the game.
It's already questionable if Andy Dalton, who didn't use his throwing arm during practice on Wednesday (doing a Carson Palmer and handing off with his left hand), will even play on Sunday.
