According to Yahoo! Sports' Mike Silver, Bengals running back Cedric Benson has been notified "of a three-game suspension for player-conduct violations" during the lockout.
Benson pled no contest for two assault charges over the offseason and spent less than four days in jail, released on September 3, 2011. Benson was also forced to pay a $2,000 fine. We're not sure if this is the result of Benson's second assault over the summer, or the accumulation of both charges that forced him to serve jail time. It's a good bet however that Benson will play this weekend.
According to Silver, Benson's appeal will be heard this Tuesday and until that ruling is made, Benson is active. However, we have to point out that nothing is official yet.
