What's surprising to me is that the Bengals only used Brandon Johnson during one snap on defense against the San Francisco 49ers. Rey Maualuga missed nine snaps on Sunday, mostly due to an I.V. treatment to recover from cramping. Carlos Dunlap generated two quarterback pressures and another hit on Alex Smith during only 19 pass rushes whereas Jonathan Fanene was a monster, posting two quarterback sacks, three pressures during 22 pass rushes.
