Linebacker DeQuin Evans Joins The Cincinnati Bengals Practice Squad
According to a source with knowledge on the situation, linebacker DeQuin Evans signed his practice squad contract, making him the first known Bengals player to join the team's practice squad this year. The former defensive end out of Kentucky, converted linebacker, led the Bengals with two quarterback sacks this year, including a forced fumble against the Indianapolis Colts. The Bengals coaching staff praised Evans for his work during training camp and the preseason, endearing himself to fans for his work ethic and production. Unfortunately he was lost in a numbers game when the team announced the 53-man roster Saturday afternoon.
The Bengals have already lost one of their projected players on this year's practice squad when the Arizona Cardinals claimed cornerback Korey Lindsey.
Other players we have projected signing to the practice squad includes cornerback Brandon Ghee, wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, defensive tackle Jason Shirley, quarterback Dan LeFevour, running back Jay Finley, defensive back Rico Murray and offensive tackle Matthew O'Donnell.

Very good news, I really like this kid.
In other news..

Per the folks at PFT, #bengals have claimed WR/KR Brandon Tate, otherwise known as the guy who ran one back 97 yards on them last year.
Big question is who does he replace?
Presuming we keep 6 WRs, it would seem he’d knock Whalen out, unless we’ll try him at PR (as well as KR), in which case he could replace Cosby. Unlikely that any of the other WRs gets cut.
All waiver claims go to the 53.
At least, that’s my understanding.

Hurrah!
Good move to get him back on PS. Possibly not ready for prime time, but he showed some great play against the Colts. A great choice as a developmental player, could see some time at backup this year too, depending on how injuries shake out.
nice grab
good luck to whalen sneaking onto ps

I am not as sure
I wonder if they bring Lefevour back to the PS. I wouldn’t be surprised if they look for someone else to fill that spot. Kinda like they did last season when they brought in Dan.
He really looked quite bad out there, granted it was with 3-4 stringers, but even still. I think they look elsewhere.

don't know of any QBs cut (with PS eligibility) that looked solid in preseason

Good signing to PS
needs to be coached up to play SAM. Definately can rush the passer though.
