Reedy: TE Shuler Failed His Physical
According to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, tight end Mickey Shuler, who the Bengals claimed off waivers on Sunday, has failed his physical with the Bengals and that his roster spot will be filled in the next couple of days.
Lewis said that Shuler flunked his physical. Roster spot will be filled in next 24-48 hours #bengals
It is unclear as to who the Bengals will choose to take Shuler's roster spot but Chase Coffman was waived to make room for Shuler so it's possible that they could re-sign him. Either way, I'm sure the team will look to sign a tight end to join Jermaine Gresham and Colin Cochart.
We'll keep you updated on the situation.
UPDATE: According to Geoff Hobson, signing somebody other than a tight end is a possibility.
Extra spot per Shuler for #bengals may not be a TE. Lewis says only dressing 2 an option on Sunday

Just noticed Coffman isn’t in that list…

This comes from a post by Adam Caplan
on “The Sideline View”. I created FanShots for those lists.

Few interesting names. Manumaleuna, Lee, Baker, Mills.
I would highly doubt they go w/ Coffman.

Also sounds like PR is set

Crumpler could be interesting if...
….there’s any tread left on the tires. A seasoned vet to add to our two young guys. Not as good a blocker but better receiver than Reggie Kelly.

Fred Bennett
Mike Brown bring back Fred Bennett, with Jean-Gilles gone we no longer have someone to complain about and will instead have to turn our attention back to complaining about YOU!

Nate Livings would be another.
Maybe Andre Smith. We’ve got to have a whipping boy!!
I'd say the heck w/ it and go w/ Leonard Davis or Randall Gay. Try to fill this spot w/ a guy w/ experience.

Okay I'm crazy, but
Use the O’Donald kid as a TE. He’s 6’9" @ 300+ and is agile enough that the Celtics were interested in him, so one would think he has good hands and feet. What the heck? Am I nuts?
Coffman has been signed to the practice squad
So not the 53.
PS It’s hard to believe he’s still eligible for PS.
we only have 4 db's?
Hall Clements Jennings and Trent, why not take a flier on Will Allen cb Dolphins?
Does anybody know what exactly does a physical consist of?
What do you do when there's no way out? Find a way to get deeper in it.
Roster moves
I suspect….They didn’t want to break the news to Coffman that he sucked at blocking so they cut him for someone else that seemed to be better. Hoping that no one would pick Coffman up, they could put him on the PS after they fixed the physical and failed Shuler. This way they can get another player other than a TE on the 53 without hurting Coffmans feeling that bad.
But of course this is all far fetched speculation and I could think of something different with about 2 more drinks…
