Here's what Mike Brown has done, to appease fans since last year.
This was originally a comment. I decided to make it a fanpost. This should be amusing....
He rehired Marvin which on the face of it seems not fan friendly, but the fans were only probably 60-40 for firing Marv even after last year. I was one of the fire Marv crowd, and I still am not sold on him totally as a coach but when Marv took over we were reeling from the lost decade and he pulled this team up by it’s bootstraps and taught them NOT TO LOSE, we lost the Bungles moniker because of Marv. Why not give him a fresh, Diva free start? If he manages to get some concessions, toward us not being the butt hole of NFL, even better.
He fired Brat. and on the flipside of that, hired a REAL football name to replace him.
He ditched ocho.
He stubbornly refused to take less than a first round pick for Carson. And why not? He is still viewed by many as potentially elite, and he WAS #1 overall pick, fer cryin’ out loud. We know he’s a headcase, me first diva, but the Raiders didn’t.
He relented on drafting Ryan Mallett and got us AD.
He got an agreement to use UC’s practice bubble for this year and is committed to building one in the future.
He gave a BOGO ticket offer to season ticket holders to help stimulate a sellout and gave away snacks to people in the queue to the tune of North of 250,000
He lowered ticket prices for next year.
He revamped the med staff.
Oh and while cynics may see him as being greedy by buying the rest of the Bengals shares, the reality is he no longer has any shareholders to answer to so if he makes less profit for a couple years someone else doesn't suffer.
It would be nice to be able to hold a retirement ceremony at PBS for Mike brown soon and not have Rabid haters waiting in the wings to boo and hiss. The Brown family is in a large part responsible for the shape of the NFL today, and SOLELY responsible for having the NFL in Ohio.
I can think of 3 things that could help. A real football savvy GM, a real scouting department, and last but not least, a Championship.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors.

A real football name?
Zeke Bratkowski, look it up.
Bobby Brats had worn out his welcome here, but Jay Gruden is no more of a “real football” name…
The Brown family is in a large part responsible for the NFL. (sic)
I, for one , would heave rotten veggies at MBB.
Paul Brown, NOT mikey boy is solely responsible for the shape of the NFL today.
I saw a cartoon on WDR, (funniest thing ever BTW) scientists were hooking up electrical leads to Paul Browns grave to generate electricity from Paul rolling over in his grave. Wish I had a link.

Mike Brown had little or nothing to do
With drafting Andy Dalton. That was Jay Gruden’s deal from beginning to end. He pretty much single-handedly scouted him. I suspect that part of the agreement that was reached for him to come on board is that he got to draft the players he wanted executing his offense. I also suspect that if we did not have Jay Gruden we would have picked Mallet or Gabbert in the first round and missed out on AJ Green as well.
Holding onto Carson until someone was desperate enough for a veteran QB to give a first round pick and a conditional second round (which would have been a 1st round as well if the Raiders had made the playoffs) was a stroke of genius. Or maybe he just realized he’d be an idiot to turn down a 1st round pick for a player who was doing nothing but take up salary cap space and would never take the field for him again. Personally, my money’s on the latter.
But giving Mike Brown credit for drafting Dalton is too much. The most you can give him credit for is shutting up and staying out of it.
Palmer's a me first diva?
come on….
And probably the most underrated moves this offseason were picking up Lawson, Howard, and Clements. Plus holding onto Pacman. Without them, we are maybe a 5-11 team. But I don’t credit Brown with making those moves – only allowing or paying somebody else to suggest and make them.

Jones had a two year deal left over from last year
Clements was only picked up as a way to prevent Zimmer from coming over to his office with a baseball bat after losing J Jo.

letting the high-priced and unreliable (healthwise) Joseph go for a much cheaper and almost as effective pair in Clements and Jones
along with Hall was a good move in my opinion. Doing that allowed us to retain Palmer until we were able to receive two high round draft picks as well as extend Whitworth and a few other key players’ contracts.

i concur
I just worry this sudden late success will encourage him to take back the reigns again. Hopefully he steps aside completely and allows us to become a legitimate longterm franchise as opposed to a fly-by-night one.

And hopefully he realizes, FINALLY, that he isn't capable of doing so
and leaves these decisions to those who are abviously better suited.
