false start on the 2pt conversion byt Dressen, then the snap rolled 20 yards behind Delhomme

the same conditions apply to us making the playoffs, only thing the titans win change was the raiders and titans seeding.
if we lose and broncos/raiders win, we’re and titans in. before the titan win, the raiders would have been in. now the raiders only way in the playoffs is for the broncos to lose and the raiders to win.

If there are 3 AFC teams that finish 9-7 without winning their divsion
and two of them is the Bengals and Titans, the Titans go to the playoffs. If the Raiders & Broncos both win, the Broncos win the divsion and the Titans get the #6 seed because of hte 3 way tie

what happens under the pile doesn't matter
what matters is where the ball is when the refs dig down & find it. Same with determining who has possession in a pile. Who had it doesn’t matter, all that matters is who has it at the end.

BUT, if we lose I’d still take it to get these young players the experience. PLUS we could very easily beat the Texans and advance even if we lose.
Obviously it’s best to just go ahead and win, but if we don’t I still want to get these young players Playoff expeirence.

Just curious
I know even fan team blog writers should be critical of their team, but statements like the one above sort of make you sound just as bad as a bandwagon fan. After all, its just half time and its a 2 score game – not a 42-0 blowout.
Look at how they're playing.
Penalties, missed FG, two 3rd and ones not converted and poor body language. I’m not rooting for them to lose, this team just historically shrinks in the spotlight.

I am not saying that you’re rooting for the Bengals to lose, but IMO, the tone of one of the writers should not be the same as a bandwagon fan. Yes, this does mean I hold you to a higher standard than the other posters around here because you’re a writer and most of us are not.
Your most recent statement “this team just historically shrinks in the spotlight” sounds wayyyy better than “Bengals will self destruct in…”

The NFL has to do something about the refs making these calls on any hit that is hard
Bill Parcell’s was on ESPN and said that there was one specific NFL crew that had called 800+ more yards then any other NFL officiating crew, on “judgment call” type penalties. That’s obviously an issue.
The league has their favorites and we aren't one of them.

Not just that but the NFL has told the refs to "err on the side of caution" and throw the flag
If they think it MAY be an illegal hit. Up until this year the rule was always only throw the flag if you saw a penalty!
they can still win it, they just need to string some long drives together on offense
by which I mostly mean keep Benson off the field. Every time he fails on 3rd and 1, every time he gets 1 yard or less on first down, that’s another drive the Bengals are just giving away., You can’t keep giving the opponent charity plays like that.
But I ask again
why would any coach who retains his sanity call for a Benson run up the gut on 3rd and 1? After watching this team all year?
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Or Bengals coaches.

I guess they saw Scott gain a first down on 3rd and 1 and thought that Benson could. Unfortunately we all know Benson sucks and one of the things he sucks most at is 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1.
