Is it time to ask the question: Will Palmer quit on the Raiders?
The Raiders new GM, Reggie McKenzie, tweeted a simple message the other day. "Carson Palmer will not be immune to a good player...pushing him."
As I understand the situation, the Bengals are clear of this mess, we'll get our 1st round pick and 2nd round draft pick, regardless of what Palmer does or doesn't do in the off season. There is no reason to believe Palmer will quit nor has he made any announcement of that intention.

Its permanent marker, not a tattoo
Look at the mustache. There is absolutely no way that is a tattoo. If it is then it is a horribly drawn tattoo inked by a child.
Don't know about you..........
but I’ve seen some horribly drawn tattoo’s. If they are tattoo’s it must have cost a fortune, I’m assuming he didn’t go to the tat artist of the stars or anything.

You really hurt your case when you cite PFT and Bleacher Report within two sentences.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
theres no case to be made
those 2 sites both went out on a limb and created op-ed pieces. the only facts we have, the raiders new gm made a statement about palmer. which is quoted.
and as bengals fans we know what palmer has for a heart. up to each person here to decide in their own mind how this thing is going to play out.
"the bengals are not a west of the 104 longitude team."
Palmer will have a career year!
Raider’s will finally get a creditable coach to clean up that mess
Palmer will finally get to play for a coach, who should be a coach, not just another token
If he quits this time, there will not be anyone knocking down the door to bring him back for sure
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
yep
The Raiders are going places. The crypt-keeper died this year. His son hire a GM with NFL bonafides from the Packers. They’ll find good people and find good talent. Carson Palmer is lucky he ended up there.

One of the things Palmer is still really good at is throwing the deep ball, and now his receiving corps is the 4.2 squad.
That alone makes it a good fit. Also, like you said, they have a GM now, plus they play in a weak division.
Carson was pretty lucky.

I agree
I know I’m “that guy” around here when it comes to Palmer but he put up monster numbers (INT’s too) with 0 off season and essentially coming off his couch to play pro football.
If he can cut that INT problem in half that team can be scary.
On a side note…. lets make sure to Grab Bush from his team :D

Here's the thing
He might very well break Drew Breeses passing record but at the same time he will break the single season INT record as well. The dude makes too many bad decisions.
Also relies on receiver's to be where there supposed to be
If you look at Carson’s int’s,very few are bad decisions, not saying he doesnt make them
For the most part Carson is victim of lazy receiver’s,guys not being where there supposed to be,falling down on timing route’s,Half the QB’s in this league are not even trusted enough to run those type of plays
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
In 2006-2010, I kept hearing that same argument
Mostly about Chad, My question is why didn’t he have that problem in 2005. It was the same OC, same routes, same QB, and same WR. He knew the routes in 2005 but all of sudden what he forgot what they were in 2009. I don’t buy it, especially after watching him continue to throw int’s this year with another team
We lost TJ!
Why cant Chad crack the lineup in NE,Just look at the int’s without just speculating about them
I know you will agree, there’s also a high percentage of late 4th quarter int’s,where the team is
down and all you can do is pass.
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
Yes we did loose TJ and I'm not saying Chad is great
But the excuse everytime was Chad ran the wrong route. He was our #1 WR in 2005!!! How come he ran the correct routes in 2005 but not in 2009 and 2010? Also have you seen how many times he just sails his passes over WR heads that lead to INTS.
I have seen that
All i’m saying is that Palmer’s int’s are not as big of a issue as everyone makes it out to be
He is very close to Dan Marino in that aspect
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
I think it was option routes
Chad wasn’t where Carson wanted him to be. It’s just an easy excuse to blame the WR. I do think that Carson is a playmaker not a game manager and that’s why he has the high number of INT’s. I loved Palmer ints and all, the guy has a rocket arm and if he’s in the game your never out of it.

He will quit.
Mainly because he has never been pushed or forced to compete for his job. He is used to being pampered like a princess.
You may be right...
…but I’m not sure you can label anyone who lasted for 7 years on a team owned by Mike Brown without having thoughts of either leaving or suicide, as a quitter. I think he’ll thrive on da raidahs.
by Who dey in LA on Jan 13, 2012 6:43 PM EST up reply actions
I'd still make that trade
I’m not so sure if “da raidahs”had it to do over again, they would even come close to considering that
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
BUSH would be a nice pick-up.

It seems to me
That all those recent USC quarterbacks are just a bunch of bums, and Palmer was arguably the most talented.
Sanchise woul be ok
He’s just stuck with that mess of a team, kinda like Carson either to bitch to stand up and be the man,or doesnt have
the support of his HC whenever he attempts to stand up.Biggest reason for these borderline QB’s weather they make it or not
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
Good to see Bengal fans with somehow positive feedback
But I dont think he will quit on us, the guy has been a class act since he came in with us, someone mentioned how he survived 7 years of Mike Brown before explodinga dn Im with him and hope he is right. But as far as it has gone he has been a pure class act. He has shown flashes and well, his INTs arent that huge of a problem, interesting fact, 9 of the 16 picks where when the team was down by at least 21, and he does make HORRIBLE decisions sometimes, but other times you get this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24cQqkhzsMA …I think he will be better when McFadden is healthy, with a full offseason, btw congratulations on amking the playoffs and having such a season when everybody thought you would horribly flunk. I have to admit predicted 2-14 for you guys but you gotta give credit where its due, hopefully Dalton keeps improving and Brown stops being a douche, future is bright in Cincy…peace
Other than quitting
Palmer was nothing but class, never threw guys under the bus, always took blame, warranted or not
Ended up being the best thing for him and us,i hope ya’ll can get a decent HC,if anyone deserves
at least one season with a x’s and o’s guy its Carson, and dammit we wont that other first round pick
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
Palmer won't quit b/c he can collect his paycheck and go home at night
With the Bengals he just went to his home in Ohio when he wanted to be in Cali. I have no sympathy for a quitter. It completely outweighs all the good he did.
I don’t think they’ll have anyone where to push him for the starting job; however, I do think Pryor is going to push for playing time in certain packages. I wonder how CP will react to that.
Carson is a starter, plain and simple
Most teams dont have one guy like Carson,so him being pushed by someone just isnt in the cards
