Late round WR draft options

When the Bengals are on the draft clock in 2012, sometime in the later rounds, the Bengals might be in a position to draft a WR. We'll know more after free agency and the Bengals' signings or lack thereof.

Star-divide

Ryan Broyles, once a lock to be a 1st round pick in the upcoming NFL draft, broke the all time NCAA reception record in October 2011. Less than one month later, Broyles tore his ACL, ending his college career, and his 1st round lock status. CBSports currently lists Broyle as the 21st best WR in the draft class.

Ryann Broyles' scouting report.

Eric Page played for a smaller college, Toledo, and finished his career 43 yards behind Broyles record. Page could have had the record if he played his college senior year. Instead, Page declared for the draft, passing on the record, and opting for an NFL career. Page will not be a first day pick because of his school. We'll hear more about Page as the draft approaches. He'll sneak up the draft boards. Could he be available when the Bengals draft in the 4th or 5th round?

Page is undersized

but is a pretty good player. He had a huge game when they played at Ohio State. Style is much like Hawkins. That being said, I think his his biggest impact in the NFL will be in the return game.

Whatever team he ends up with will be very happy with the addition. I don’t think he’ll end up in Cincy. I just don’t see the team adding another tiny WR when they already have Hawkins, even though Page can ball.

He’ll definitely be one of those under the radar WR’s that really help a team out, like fellow Rocket Lance Moore – and what I expect Andrew Hawkins to become in Cincy.
