Open Thread: New York Giants (9-7) At Green Bay Packers (15-1)
The New York Giants head to Green Bay to take on the 15-1 Packers in a game that some believe could result in the first major upset during the playoffs. Talk about the game here only because it's preordained in our genetic code.

Those are the absolute worst
Right up there with the terrible Geico caveman commercials. Ugh

I actually like the BJ Raji one. The other two I can’t stand.

BJ Raji might be my favorite athlete
after watching that second Discount Doublecheck commercial. The others aren’t that great.

The Giants are getting it together at the right time.
I think they have a good shot at winning this game.

Giants need touchdowns
not field goals
Watching Stanford Jennings kick return in the Super Bowl was the out of body experience of my sports life.
Packers will win big
I also like the Giants to keep it close, if not win outright but since I’ve been pretty much wrong on every game this post-season, looks like it’ll be a Packers route.
Wow!
Nicks!

That fumble if it stands could be a 14 point swing...

After we get the secondary and o line fixed
We need to get some lbers that can fly around like the TX and GB have. Just watching these games makes me envious of their lbing cores.

Why?
when you have momentum after the missed call and TD.

Don't agree with the call either
Cant remember the last time Marvin tried a surprise onside kick?
Aaron Rodgers
has one smart brain inside his head.

It looked like he had a convoy
if he had returned that fumble the other way…

Packers O line is having some issues today
Giants D line is the team’s strength
"In a battle between patience and power, patience always wins"
yes there D line has been there strength for years
even though i like our D line i think they can get even better with some corner and safety help

no
do not want the ravens anywhere near the super bowl lol
by bengalinflorida on Jan 15, 2012 6:36 PM EST up reply actions
I was thinking about this
I hate the Pats almost as much— and if the Ravens get to the Super Bowl it would drop their draft pick even further, doing us a favor in the upcoming years, particularly since their defense is aging rapidly. So Ravens may be the lesser of 2 evils, at least IMHO.
it was comedy the first time 'round
but not many people picked up on that.

Defense is alive and well in the NFL....
Niners beat Saints, Giants beat Packers, Ravens still alive and then you have the opposite in the Patriots

I don't think it was luck
but he had time to pass. Which is something that he hasn’t had for most of the year. The Giants D-line will probably put a lot of pressure o him though
AJ Green = Optimus Prime
This is a pretty surprising...I figured if the GIants won it would be real close

If the Pats
can protect Brady the Ravens won’t be able to stop them I don’t think

packers were 19th last year on defense
steelers much higher rated
year before, Saints were 20th.

also when the Giants beat the Patriots
they were only the 17th ranked defense that year.

and the year the Colts won
they were 23rd.
So actually 4 of the last 5 Super Bowl winners were not in the top half of the NFL on D.

Eli never looks happy
Touchdown, winning in the playoffs, doesn’t matter… he always has a look on his face like “bummer”.
Packers D not good enough
to overcome an off day for their offense….
