Open Thread: Tuesday's Gone
And then there were four.
The Giants, 49ers, Patriots and Ravens are all that's left in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Bengals season is over but with all the coaching vacancies, there's a lot of news and rumors circulating about who will go where, including Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
See, there is a lot of stuff to talk about.

I'm finished with the NFL this year
I’m not watching any of the remaining games. I want all 4 of those teams to lose.
I’m going to go curtain shopping with my GF during the Super Bowl.

really? I say that to my self everytime the bengals r done for the year
but then I end up watching the games and see how we compare to "playoff " teams
AMAS
I watch because I love football.
I don’t love anything more than Bengals and Buckeyes football, but I never want to see the season end regardless.
Something to talk about
Ryan Lownes with Draft Breakdown posted his latest mock draft
Dropping to us at 17… David DeCastro and at 21 he shows us taking Stephon GIlmore.
Oh and Lamar Miller comes on the boards, in this mock, just before us to the Jets…

I'm seeing more and more mock drafts with Richardson falling to us
These asshats are getting my hopes up.
that kinda scares me, i was hoping he started out high and dropped after the combine
now its going to be the oppisite lol

The media is setting him up to crash and burn
if he fails

I kinda feel bad for the guy.
Leave him alone already. He didn’t ask for all this coverage, and he is a decent guy. I am sick of hearing his name as much as the next person, but he didn’t bring this upon himself nor did he ask for it. They talk all this about a guy who is devoted to his religion, and they nit pick every little thing, but a guy can rape someone, run someone over and so on, and yes, it’s covered, but then they move on. Tebow is out of the playoffs, how about talking about the people still in them and give the guy a break, you have the whole off season to critique him.
I know it's ridiculous
My point as the media isn’t doing him any favors. I wasn’t saying he is going to fail. Just that the media is setting him up for a serious crash and burn if he does fail. My only views on Tebow are:
1. He’s a Gator and I’m a Seminole fan
2. I’m just tired of hearing about him

No, they aren't doing him any favors.
They all want to set him up so they can say “told ya so” like the big bunch of experts they are, and yes, the name Tebow is getting old.
The "Tebowie" video that Jimmy Fallon made is downright hilarious.

Dre Kirkpatrick busted for possession of pot last night.
That should move him down on draft day. What a freaking idiot.
lol
was he hanging out with jenkins? great way to go from a top 15 pick down to a bottom 50 pick

I will honestly never understand it.
This crap happens all the time. Why don’t athletes get it? YOU CANT SMOKE POT OR DO DRUGS.
The same reason electricians or truck drivers or (xyz…) dont get it

I don't know if it would be a good idea
To bring him right across the river from where that real Bluegrass grows. :-P

If 2 prospects were to drop, which combination would be most preferred
A. Kirkpatric & Richardson
B. Richardson & DeCastro
C. Kirkpartic & DeCastro
By the way, I choose A
Kirkpatric and Richardson
C
I don’t trust the Bengals enough in free agency to go after a proven OL like Grubbs or Nicks. Therefore if DeCastro is there we have to take him because the basis of the run game starts with the Oline, plus there are other valuable RB’s that can be taken in the second round.

Good point
Although, I could make the argument about pretty good guards being available in the 2nd round as well:)
B
In a worst case scenario, we don’t get a good corner in FA or the draft with the guys we have returning we’d be okay. I’m not looking at the rankings but I would guess our rushing offense was worse than our pass defense. If Hall returns to his normal self and we resign Jones that will make our secondary serviceable. B helps the run and pass game.
by Bigcatdaddy on Jan 17, 2012 11:58 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
I agree
B would probably be our best option. We get a two solid players for years and hopefully we would pick up a DB in free agency. But I dont see both of them falling. But then again you never know.

From that Miami Herald article..
“The Dolphins liked Zimmer’s rèsumè, and he and general manager Jeff Ireland have a good relationship. But one source said he might have been too blunt and honest for the Dolphins’ liking. Zimmer can be outspoken at times, including calling former Falcons coach Bobby Petrino a "gutless b—tard" for leaving the job without telling any of his assistants.”
Ireland asked Dez Bryant if his mother was a prostitute, what could Zimmer have said to have topped that?
OH,you have to post that on the Dolphins site
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
Maybe zimmer ask Ireland if his mothers was a man?

have to support the cause
sopa is a stupid law. when 1 claim of infringement can have an entire site delisted from the net. its dumb. put it in perspective. when the baltimore sun whined 2 weeks ago about josh not crediting them (which he did), under sopa, it could have not only cincyjungle pulled from the dns, but sbnation too.
