According to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, Cincinnati Bengals fourth-year wide receiver Jerome Simpson was indicted by the Kenton County Grand Jury for Trafficking Marijuana (over eight ounces but less than five pounds), which is a Class D Felony and is punishable by one to five years in prison.
Just heard, Jerome Simpson just indicted for Trafficking Marijuana Over 8oz, Less than 5lbs. Class D felony. 1-5 yrs
Simpson was under investigation by multiple agencies after a package containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana was tracked from California to his Northern Kentucky home, where six more pounds of marijuana was allegedly discovered. He finished the season without much more word on the situation, leaving many Bengals fans wondering what would happen. This is the first we've heard about the situation since the original incident.
Simpson is a free agent and after an up-and-down season, this news will likely turn out to be the final nail in his coffin with the Bengals.
