Open Thread: NFC Championship
It's one of the league's best defenses against a team that has the potential to beat anybody in the NFL at any time. The 49ers have been consistently good with their hard-hitting defense from the beginning to the end of the season while the Giants were somewhat inconsistent through the regular season. That ended in the playoffs as the Giants knocked off the Falcons and then beat the Packers, the favorites to win the Super Bowl.
Both teams are on a roll and this game could go either way. So who's it going to be? Will it be the 49ers, who beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl twice, or the Giants from the Big Apple? Should be a great game.
The winner of this game will face the New England Patriots. Our own Mojokong believes the Giants win this one by a score of 24-13. What do you think?

The best news of the day so far?
Brady won’t be playing in the Pro Bowl now. And I think we all know who the first alternate is. :)
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
has a rookie
in his first year ever been a pro bowler?
"God has blessed me and I will continue to do my best for him. This is more important than anything I could do in baseball." -Albert Pujols
It's been done many times before in multiple places
as for a QB? Marino started the pro bowl as a rookie. I know there’s a few others, Big Ben for instance. Great as it is, it’s not a real rarity.
If you're talking about QBs, it's fairly rare.
But Suh was in it just last year.
Cincy Jungle: Where the Rocky Mountains are in the Pacific Ocean
im not sure if a rookie qb wr combo ever made it
That’s a pretty big thing.

I actually doubt many rookie WRs have made it.
They usually have a really tough time transitioning.

Anquan Boldin

or even good at impressions!
He does a good Madden, that’s it.

it's not funny though.
Sure, he nails the voices and mannerisms but the content is just brutal.

I’m sure he can do others but I’ve seen him do a lot of crap ones, and he’s not funny, and he’s just horrible.

The team who needs to win
is the team that has the best chance of beating NE……. and I think that is Giants.
Watching Stanford Jennings kick return in the Super Bowl was the out of body experience of my sports life.
49ers defense is awesome
but I worry Bellichek being able to stop Alex Smith…. I trust Manning a little more.
Watching Stanford Jennings kick return in the Super Bowl was the out of body experience of my sports life.
i want the 49ers to win
Because Alex smith. He’s been destroyed for 7 years in that city now he has a chance to take them to the superbowl!

A lot of people would take a job on Idol.
They get paid ungodly amounts of money and don’t really have to do much.

Remember when
Bengals lost 13-8 to the Niners earlier this season and everyone felt like shit because they got beat by Alex Smith?
I remember
they didn’t cross midfield till the 3rd quarter. The 49ers.
Watching Stanford Jennings kick return in the Super Bowl was the out of body experience of my sports life.
This always bugs me about 49ers games.
Why don’t they put a tarp on that empty section of bleacher seats? It looks weird just being empty.
Interesting
quite a few Steeler fans were cheering on the Ravens on the Ravens Baltimore Beat Down… kind of classy actually.

Speaking of Hochuli's speech
I read an article that the NFL is planning to have some of the refs go full time starting next year. I did not know that NFL refs were not full time, and that is retarded. This is a billion dollar league. Explains a lot of the bogus calls.
I disagree....there will be missed calls no matter what
Same with the NBA, MLB etc.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
There will still be missed calls
But you have do do whatever you can to decrease them. If you want refs to act like professionals you have to treat them like professionals.
Really?!
You spend all week studying film and reading the rules instead of dishing up french fries or fixing toilets and it makes no difference?
Most of these guys are professional types lol
Lawyers, doctor’s etc…..This has been debated for years. They have to make bang bang calls and there will always be complaints no matter how much film they watch. They know the rules better than you or I.

Also, from somebody else who BabyHawk RTed:
Lee Evans still hasn’t moved from in front of his locker. Has his gear on, staring straight ahead. 45 minutes after the game.
Wonder what Cundiff is doing… and if he’s still alive.

The Ocho gets to go to the Super Bowl, before he retire's
"A team is more than a group of individuals, its a group of individuals that come together to make a team"
Which means he'll have a ring regardless.
I mean, it could end up being a second place ring, but a ring nonetheless.
I still don’t like that the losers of the Super Bowl get rings, though.
